CELTA Conference organized in collaboration with Fischer International

Date: 6th of February 2020
Location: Capitol Hotel, Bucharest
Time frame: 9:00 – 12:00

Taking the CELTA course has many times proved to be the experience of a lifetime and the extra mile that dedicated teachers need to take in order to have international doors opened to them.

As CELTA is awarded by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge, it is:

  • Internationally recognised;
  • Highly respected;
  • A benchmark for quality;
  • The most widely recognised and accepted TESOL certificate.

Obtaining the Cambridge University CELTA qualification means you will have the most sought after certificate which will help open doors. Having a Cambridge University certificate will look very impressive on your resume, as no other internationally recognised TESOL course is backed by a world-class university.

During the conference, the speakers will lead the audience through the most important details regarding the CELTA course: from a brief description of the course itself and what it entails to the essential steps one needs to take in order to be admitted on the course. It will also help to dispel the myths about the many worries one might have before deciding to start the application process.

Furthermore, during the demo input session, we will be looking at some of the most important aspects of classroom management. We will delve into setting up tasks and giving instructions, effectively monitoring the students, and dealing with some of the problems that might arise during a lesson.

Come meet the tutors and find out the answer to the questions you might have about the CELTA course and certificate! Get ready for a session full of practical advice and some hands-on tasks that will allow you to try your hand at using the approaches discussed.

The CELTA tutors speaking at this conference are extremely experienced. Cambridge University criteria require tutors to have at least a minimum of five years teaching experience in a range of different settings. A tutor goes through rigorous training as outlined by Cambridge University, providing them with the skills necessary to comply with the demands of the CELTA course.

Her story starts as many other stories do, with a big dream: to become a TEACHER! Her EFL career started in 2002 and throughout the years she has been teaching a whole range of General English and exams classes – all levels and all ages.

As the years went by, she grew into her role of a teacher, got her DELTA qualifications, did the CELTA course and became a Cambridge certified teacher of teachers, with fingers in many other ELT connected fields as well.

Georgiana is a CELTA tutor, an in-house mentor for teachers, a Cambridge exams manager, an international conference speaker, a book co-writer and the list can go on.

Alexandru initially studied Advertising in the UK, but he decided that becoming a teacher would be a more rewarding career to pursue. After getting his DELTA qualification, he became a CELTA tutor.

His experience includes working with adults, young learners and teens. He is also a course coordinator and hold in-house training sessions for our teachers, and acts as a mentor for new colleagues.

He is part of the team of trainers in charge of classroom observations (part of the continuous professional development system – CPD) which enables him to give feedback and help his colleagues further perfect their teaching skills.
